I just wanted to take a bit of time to clarify some things to avoid further confusion. First of all, obviously, make sure you skim our rules over before submitting and/or requesting membership. That's pretty obvious though, what I'm really here to talk about are some questions regarding what IS considered acceptable and what is not.
First thing's first, if you're a long-time member or looking in the older sections of our gallery, you may notice things that don't quite adhere to our current set of rules or you may feel are under our particularly high standards. This is due to the change in moderation that's been going on behind the scenes here. We've been adding and subtracting people from our available help due to some getting busy with other projects, or just life in general. What does this mean to you, as a member/prospective member? Well, all it means is that we're going to be a bit tighter on the reins when it comes to what goes in the gallery. Now that we have a relatively consistent voting system and solid rules/standards, things will be stricter when it comes to quality. [THAT MEANS WE WILL NOW BE JUDGING BASED ON PROFESSIONAL CRITERIA]
Now, I'm certainly not trying to put anyone down or discourage; Quite the opposite, actually! What we hope for here at PD, and what I'm striving for personally, is for a place where artists can submit their finest works (Pokemon related, obviously) but also where they can get critiques, ideas, and inspiration from fellow artists and Pokemon fans alike. If you have a piece that gets rejected, I know it's obnoxious, but don't ever let that discourage you. Please, don't be shy to ask for help or question why something wasn't accepted!
Sorry, this was a bit long winded! I don't want anyone to be too afraid to ask for help or talk to us mods here. We are always willing to lend a hand. This isn't supposed to be a place were you feel like you'll be bullied if you think your art isn't "good enough". If you have any questions, send a note to the group and we'll touch base with you as soon as we can.
